Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Politique undergo a rigorous selection and evaluation process by the Editorial Board to ensure compliance with the author guidelines, focus, and scope, as well as to maintain high academic quality. The journal implements a double-blind peer review method, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
1. Desk Review
At the initial stage, submitted manuscripts are screened by the Editorial Board to ensure they meet the journal’s author guidelines, focus, scope, and minimum academic quality standards. Manuscripts that do not comply will either be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.
2. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the desk review will be assigned to two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s topic. The review process is expected to take up to three weeks. Manuscripts that fail to pass the desk review stage will not proceed to peer review.
3. Review Decision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the possible editorial decisions are as follows:
-
Accepted: the manuscript is accepted for publication.
-
Accepted with minor revisions: the manuscript can be accepted for publication after minor revisions.
-
Accepted with major revisions: the manuscript requires substantial revisions in areas such as data analysis, theoretical framework, or overall writing before it can be reconsidered.
-
Rejected: the manuscript is not suitable for publication due to fundamental issues.
The final decision is made by the Editorial Board, taking into account the reviewers’ recommendations.
4. Revision Stage
-
For major revisions, authors are given three weeks to revise and resubmit.
-
For minor revisions, authors are given one week.
Authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a completed review summary form detailing their responses to reviewers’ comments.
5. Final Decision
The revised manuscript will be re-evaluated by the Editorial Board. If the revisions are deemed insufficient or not seriously addressed, the manuscript may still be rejected at this stage.
6. Proofreading
Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes proofreading to ensure linguistic quality and clarity.
7. Publication Confirmation
The final layout of the manuscript will be sent to the author for approval. Authors may correct typographical errors at this stage. Upon confirmation, the Editorial Secretary will process the manuscript for online and print publication.
