Author Guideline

Jurnal Politique is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The journal provides a scholarly platform for research on themes related to Political Science. Taking a broad and interdisciplinary perspective, the journal brings together diverse approaches to the study of politics.

It publishes peer-reviewed articles on the historical, cultural, social, philosophical, anthropological, literary, artistic, and media-related dimensions of political studies. By promoting an understanding of politics in both thought and practice, and within its cultural and social contexts, the journal aims to become a leading forum for new findings and critical discussions in the field of Political Science.

The journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars in related disciplines. Submitted articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts are reviewed by the editors, the editorial board, and independent blind reviewers. Submissions that fail to comply with formatting or length guidelines will be rejected without review.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, with a length of 6,000–8,000 words, including text, tables, figures, notes, references, and appendices.

  • Each submission must include an abstract (150–200 words) and five to six keywords.

  • Citations, terms, and expressions in local or foreign languages must be followed by explanations in parentheses.

  • The journal accepts electronic submissions only; authors must log in to the system before submitting their manuscripts.

Referencing Style

All references must appear in-text as citations. Jurnal Politique follows the latest Chicago Manual of Style (author-date and notes-bibliography system). Below are some examples of references and citations:

Transliteration

For Arabic transliteration, Jurnal Politique follows the Library of Congress (LC) system. Examples:

  • Consonants: ', b, t, th, j, kh, d, dh, r, z, s, sh, ṣ, ḍ, ṭ, ẓ, ‘, gh, f, q, l, m, n, h, w, y.

  • Short vowels: a, i, u.

  • Long vowels: ā, ī, ū.

  • Diphthongs: aw, ay.

  • Tā marbūṭā: -h or -t (depending on context).

  • Definite article: al-.
