Publication Ethics
Jurnal Politique adheres to the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics.
1. Editorial Responsibilities

Editors make publication decisions based solely on academic merit, relevance, originality, and clarity, without regard to authors’ race, gender, religion, nationality, or political views.

Editors ensure a fair double-blind peer review process and preserve confidentiality at all stages.

Editors must act on any suspected cases of research misconduct, plagiarism, or ethical violations following COPE flowcharts.
2. Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two qualified reviewers.

Reviewers must evaluate objectively, maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and avoid using unpublished material for personal advantage.
3. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must submit only original works, properly citing sources and avoiding plagiarism, multiple, or redundant publication.

All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research.

Authors are obliged to participate in the peer review process, provide necessary corrections, and disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

The Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, as the publisher, ensures editorial independence, ethical oversight, and archiving of all published content through LOCKSS.

The publisher guarantees open access to all published articles and does not charge any submission or publication fees.
5. Plagiarism and Misconduct Policy

The journal applies Turnitin to screen all submissions for plagiarism.

Cases of misconduct (plagiarism, fabrication, unethical research) will be handled according to COPE guidelines, and may result in correction, retraction, or withdrawal.
6. Privacy Statement

Names, emails, and personal data submitted will be used exclusively for this journal’s purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
