Publication Ethics

All individuals involved in the publication process at the Journal of Integrative International Relations (JIIR) are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards as set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Editor's Responsibilities

Decision on Publication

The editor is responsible for assessing the suitability of submissions for publication in JIIR. This evaluation is guided by the manuscript's significance, originality, clarity, research validity, and alignment with the journal's scope. Manuscripts are reviewed impartially, irrespective of the authors' personal attributes. Legal considerations, including libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism, will be duly considered.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff are obligated to uphold the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Manuscript information will be disclosed exclusively to authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher, as required.

Conflicts of Interest and Disclosure

Editors and editorial board members are prohibited from utilizing unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for their personal research without the author's explicit written consent. All conflicts of interest must be disclosed and addressed accordingly.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Role in Editorial Decisions

Peer reviewers play a pivotal role in aiding editors with publication decisions and offering constructive feedback to authors for manuscript enhancement

Timeliness

Reviewers who deem themselves unqualified to evaluate manuscript content or are unable to conduct a timely review should inform the editor and withdraw from the process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review are to be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must refrain from sharing, discussing, or disseminating manuscript content with others without explicit editor approval

Objectivity and Fairness

Reviews should be conducted objectively, avoiding personal criticism of the author. Reviewers should articulate their opinions clearly, providing supporting evidence.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers must identify any relevant work that the authors have overlooked. If there is substantial overlap between the manuscript under review and other work known to the reviewer, this information should be communicated to the editor.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must abstain from evaluating manuscripts where conflicts of interest arise from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors, institutions, or organizations involved in the research.

Authors' Responsibilities

Reporting Standards

Authors are expected to provide a truthful and objective account of their research, including a discussion of its significance. The submitted manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to enable others to replicate the study. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable and unethical.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be requested to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly accessible, whenever feasible, while safeguarding participant confidentiality. Authors are encouraged to retain their data for at least ten years following publication.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must verify that their work is entirely original. If they have utilized the work or writings of others, proper citations must be provided. Submitting plagiarized content or misrepresenting the work of others is unethical and unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should refrain from submitting manuscripts describing substantially the same research to multiple journals simultaneously. Such behavior is considered unethical publishing practice. Manuscripts previously published as copyrighted material elsewhere will not be accepted unless explicit exceptions are granted by the editor.

Authorship of the Paper

Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research's conception, design, execution, or interpretation should be listed as authors. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and agree to its submission

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors are obligated to disclose any financial or other substantial conflicts of interest that may impact the results or interpretation of their work. All research funding sources must be acknowledged.

Corrections to Published Work

If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor and collaborate in correcting or retracting the paper.

This ethics statement delineates the responsibilities of editors, reviewers, and authors in safeguarding the integrity of scholarly publication in JIIR. The journal is dedicated to upholding these principles to preserve the quality and credibility of academic research.
