Author Guidelines

General Information

Siyar Journal publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and book reviews in the fields of social sciences, political studies, and Islamic studies. Manuscripts submitted must be original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not under consideration in other journals.

All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review. Authors must follow the formatting and referencing rules described below.

Manuscript Preparation

1. Language and Length

  • Manuscripts must be written in English.

  • Article length: 6,000–8,000 words including tables, figures, footnotes, and references.

  • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.2 spacing for the main text.

2. Title and Author Information

  • Title: concise and informative, maximum 15 words.

  • Author(s): full name(s) without titles, institutional affiliation(s), and email address(es).

  • Corresponding author must be indicated.

3. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: 250–300 words, written in the same language as the article.

  • The abstract should include: background, objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusion.

  • Provide 3–5 keywords, arranged alphabetically, separated by commas.

4. Structure of the Manuscript

Articles should generally follow this structure:

  • Introduction: Background, research questions, objectives, significance.

  • Methods: Research design, data collection, and analysis. For conceptual papers, explain approach or framework.

  • Results: Presentation of findings, supported by tables/figures if necessary.

  • Discussion: Interpretation of results, comparison with previous studies, theoretical implications.

  • Conclusion: Main findings, contribution, limitations, and suggestions for further research.

  • Acknowledgements (if any).

  • References.

Book reviews and conceptual essays may use a flexible structure, but must still include an introduction and conclusion.

References and Citation Style

  • Siyar Journal follows the Chicago Manual of Style (Full Note) for footnotes and bibliography.

  • Footnotes should be used for citations, written in 10 pt, single-spaced.

  • Bibliography must list all works cited in the article, arranged alphabetically by author’s surname.

  • Only sources cited in the article may appear in the bibliography.

Tables and Figures

  • Must be placed as close as possible to the text where they are first mentioned.

  • Each table/figure must have a clear title and source (if applicable).

  • Use consecutive numbering (Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, etc.).

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s OJS system in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

  • Authors must ensure their manuscript complies with the plagiarism policy (maximum similarity index 20%).

  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit manuscripts for clarity, grammar, and style without changing the substance.
