Plagiarism Notice
The Sunan Ampel Review of Political and Social Sciences (SARPASS) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and maintains a strict policy against plagiarism in any form. All submitted manuscripts must be original and properly cite the sources of ideas, data, or words used.
Every manuscript is screened using Turnitin before entering the review process. The journal applies the following similarity thresholds:
-
Below 20%: considered acceptable for review.
-
20–30%: requires revision and clarification from the author.
-
Above 30%: automatically rejected.
Plagiarism includes but is not limited to:
-
Copying another’s work verbatim without quotation marks and citation.
-
Paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s work without acknowledgment.
-
Presenting others’ ideas, data, or results as one’s own.
-
Self-plagiarism (recycling previously published work without proper citation).
Even unintentional plagiarism is treated as a serious violation of publication ethics. Authors are therefore required to carefully check citations and references before submission.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to withdraw acceptance or retract published papers if plagiarism or unethical practices are discovered, even after publication. In such cases, corrective actions such as retraction notices or publication of corrections will be taken in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
