About the Journal

The Indonesian Journal of Political Studies (IJPS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The journal provides a scholarly platform for original research in political science, encompassing both theoretical and empirical perspectives. IJPS publishes articles that examine democracy, political institutions, governance, public policy, political economy, religion and politics, social movements, gender politics, political communication, and state–society relations, with a particular focus on Indonesia while remaining open to comparative and global analyses.

IJPS welcomes original and unpublished contributions from scholars, researchers, lecturers, and practitioners in political science and related disciplines. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review process. Articles may be written in English (American English) or Indonesian, with a recommended length of 5,000–7,000 words, and must include an abstract and keywords. The journal encourages innovative theoretical arguments and rigorous empirical research based on fieldwork or library studies and accepts submissions exclusively through its online journal system.
